Testimonials
“For me belonging to the UP group has become an integral part of my health & wellbeing. It is so important to me that I can share conversations of different topics, advice, support and know we are a ‘safe’ place to do so. As a single parent I miss not having another adult to talk to on a regular basis and therefore meeting regularly benefits more greatly”.
“After I joined one of the group
chat with other single mums, they were friendly, supportive and non judgemental
community, which made me feel comfortable to be open and to feel like am not
alone.
So, being able to talk to them, to share with them the highs and lows that we
face, it’s like a therapy, we support each other spiritually, emotionally, and
we share tears and laughs, there’s a joy in my heart after the meetings because
the feeling of knowing that I am not alone gives me courage to keep going no
matter what I am going through.
I get to have some information, we share ideas, tips on things to do that can
help us through our daily lives, through the tough times. Through the
conversations, I feel connected, I feel supported and understood. I don’t feel
like am alone in the whole world anymore. It’s a blessing to have such amazing,
strong and supportive women in my life”.
“As a single parent it is very important for my mental health to be able to connect with others who are understanding of my situation. It is nice to listen to each other’s advice, get encouraged and to get ideas. For myself I prefer real contact with people to get out and meet up”.
“I would second what the others have said and for me having just moved to the city and recently separated it has been a blessing to have this support and connect with others who understand and are experiencing the challenges of being single mum etc. It is a good opportunity to make new friends too”.
